Accent Decor in Paris: Mason&Objet

This past week, a few members of the Accent Decor team were able to travel to Europe for a time of inspiration, rejuvenation, and of course, a good bit of work. Not only were they able to touch base with some of our partners overseas, but they were also thrilled to attend the renowned Mason&Objet design show in Paris, as we do each year.

This show is a time where we get to connect with makers, designers, buyers, and beauty enthusiasts from around the world. In just a few short days, we walk hundreds of aisles, admiring booths, asking questions, connecting with partners, drawing inspiration, and re-fueling our creative tanks. It is truly one of the most important shows that we attend.

This year, we were once again blown away by the caliber of design that we experienced while browsing Mason&Objet.

As we know, not everyone is able to find the time to attend Mason&Objet, so we of course brought home loads of information and take-aways that we are excited to share with you. Are you ready for the top design trends that we saw at Mason&Objet 2014?

Many existing 2014 color trends were still going strong at Mason&Objet, but have notably evolved with the times. Cobalt blue was a popular thread throughout many booths, and pastels were still very prevalent for both designs and products alike. Metallics are still showing up, speckled throughout all of these evolved color stories.

A major trend that we saw throughout this show was the telling of the stories behind the makers. In a world where so much is commonly intangible, online, and flat... Buyers and consumers alike are really craving to know the meaning, purpose, and history behind the items they select. They are asking for more than a simple exchange of goods. We saw this everywhere at Mason&Objet, which was a very exciting theme for us, as Accent Decor is and has always been committed to the story behind the scenes.
In line with this idea of the intangible becoming tangible, strong textures and tactile displays were a common thread throughout the booths that we saw as well. Using 3D art, unique product displays, and textured elements to create whole worlds within worlds. Quite an inspiring thought!

We hope that this little teaser, of the wealth of inspiration that we experienced in Paris this year, brings rejuvenation to your creativity today!

Cheers,
MADDIE

TEST POST 1

Are you in awe of the beauty you are seeing here? We are too. We absolutely adore how Janet Martineau of Floral Verde styled our products in one of her most recent photoshoots.

Janet used a variety of the Dolce Votives to light the mood in this scene. It's amazing how a touch of mercury really heightens the look and feel of this gorgeous tablescape.  Janet also used our Bespoke Vase to pull together this absolutely breathtaking floral arrangement, complete with peach garden roses, cafe au lait dahlias, and phalaenopsis orchids.

This light, airy, and romantic tablescape is setting just the right mood for this lovely Friday, don't you think?

Thanks for sharing, Janet. What a truly beautiful and inspiring design!

> Today is the last day to enter the giveaway for the upcoming SAF 1 Day Event. Get your name in the hat, and hopefully we will get to see you there!

> Always know that if you have images of a design you have done using Accent Decor's products, send them in! We would love to feature you on the blog. You can send all submissions to maddie [at] accentdecor [dot] com.

Maddie
